We have had torrential rain for days, and yesterday looked like it was going to be the same. Which would have been a real shame as I had been asked to play at an outdoor wedding.
A couple of months ago I was out busking in Market Harborough, when a young lady approached me and asked If I would play at her wedding.
Luckily the weather stayed clear for their great day. The ceremony was held in her Grandfathers back garden with lovely views of the Arthingworth countryside added to the day.
I played Pachebels Canon in D for the processions and some mellow background music whilst the register was being signed and the photo’s taken.
Everyone then moved into the marquee for the reception with fish and chips in paper all round. I thought that was an excellent idea, nice and informal and allow people to enjoy themselves.
I finished playing as they cut the cake and started the speeches, with lots of positive comments and request for business cards.
The evening consisted of a disco and a fun photographer so I should think a good night was had by all.
The bride looked lovely and the groom looked a very happy man and I would like to wish them all the best for the future.
now its on to the next wedding in a fortnight time, complete with the Bridal chorus and the wedding march to work on.
regards
Dave
