This year workshop is taking place on December the 29th at the Salvation Army Hall in South Wigston.

It is open to anyone with 12 months or more playing experience and covers ensemble work, both large and small, plus jazz improvisation if you fancy it.

The main details are on the attached flyer,  and I would be very grateful if you could share this with any sax teachers and players that you may know.

Its a great fun day after the Christmas festivities and a chance to get out of the house and blow off some steam.

I hope that some of you can join us, and if you have any questions drop me an email or ring.  dave.saxteach@yahoo.co.uk or Tel: 07736 471861

Many thanks

I recorded it at Keythorpe Manor in Rutland, while I was playing for a wedding in July 2017, using my phone.

I have some other videos to add soon so keep an eye out for them.

Best wishes

Could I ask that everyone forwards this post on so that we can get in touch with as many Saxophonists as possible please.

We have 30 spaces to fill and would love to see a full hall.

Sunday the 27th Of November was the inaugral Wedding Fayre at Barton Court in the beautiful county of Herefordshire.

It was a bright and chilly morning as all the suppliers started to arrive and James and Linda, the new owners, showed us around their beautiful house before we set up.

There was loads of choice for all of the prospective brides and groom to look at and listen too, with a singing Duo, a covers band, a classical guitarist and myself playing saxophone.

We were all in different parts of the house so no one interupted anyone else, and we all had a great day speaking to couples about what they would like for their wedding day.

This is a lovely quirky venue to consider for your wedding, with very accomdating owners to help you make the best of your special day.

All you need now is a saxophonist to provide the musical ambience to make it perfect?

The Stables Bar, Barton Court.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure to be booked for a wedding very close to home, in fact the drive was 5 minutes door to door.  The wedding took place at the Ramada Stage Hotel in Wigston.

As both Carys and Hagan like Motown, the order of the day was Stylistics, Drifters and Ben E King for the music during the service and wedding breakfast, with a selection of easy listening and pop tunes mixed in.

Even though the weather wasn’t ideal and the photographs had to be taken inside, the hotel stepped up and very quickly converted the ceremony room into a room suitable to have the pictures taken and serve drinks at the same time to keep the guest happy.

There were a lot of nice comments from the happy couple, Brides father (who booked me) and the guests about the music, which is a sure fire way to put a smile on my face.

I wish Carys and Hagan all the best for their future together and I hope they have a great honeymoon.
