I have had confirmation today of my booking to exhibit at this lovely wedding fair.

I played here last January and its an excellent event. Loads of different suppliers to give you ideas and the chance to see them in action before you commit.

So, keep the date free and I hope to see you there, if you have a particular song you would like to hear, let me know and I will do my best to play it for you.

Best wishes

Dave

The next few weeks are pretty busy, which is great.  The Folk Foundasian Sax Trio (Check out our youtube videos) have got another wedding in October, so rehearsals are in full swing, with loads of new material.

I have a Church fund raising gig in Skeffington on the 10th of October, I am playing in the bell tower! No Quasimodo jokes please.

18th October I will be exhibiting at the Belmont Hotel Wedding Fayre, Leicester.  Come along and say Hi.

I have been rebooked by Freeths Solicitors for another cocktail party on the 29th October,  and I will be playing for the residents at Sibbertoft Manor residential home later in the month too.

I also hope to be getting the 2nd track out onto Itunes and cd Baby during October, I haven’t decided yet which one to release, but keep watching here for details.

This weekend I am playing at the Quorn Grange hotel for a wedding reception on Saturday evening. I have been asked to play Baker Street as a special request by the brides mum, this is the first time I have played it.  Even though it is a saxophone classic, it’s just a tune that I have never played before.

Sunday, has me joining the guys from Folk Foundasian playing at our first wedding fair.  We are at ‘The Spinney’ wedding venue in Leicester.  There is a fashion show and about 100 hundred other wedding related stalls at this event. (11am to 6pm) Why not pop down and see us?

I am really looking forward to getting kick started after the Christmas and New Year break.

Have a look at Folk Foundasian Sax Trio on youtube to see what we do.

Have a great week

During the summer I was speaking to a chap in Loughborough who’s son plays at weddings. He plays Sitar, tabla and keyboards. His son was looking for a sax player to join him.  We have been rehearsing for the past couple of months and just before Christmas, we recorded some videos to help promote the band.

if you search for Folk foundasian sax trio on YouTube you can view the first two videos that have been mixed.

i had never met the percussionist before the session, but it really added another dimension to the tunes. It was a good afternoon of music making.

we are playing at our first wedding fair on the 18th January in Leicester if you would like to see us live.

happy new year

On the 29th of June, the Best Western Stage hotel in Wigston is holding a Wedding Open Day. The venue will be set up ready for a civil ceremony and reception so that couples can get a good idea of what is available to them

There will also be selected wedding suppliers exhibiting on the day, including me playing suitable music for both ceremony and reception.   The smooth sound of the  saxophone offers a unique  sense of style to any event, but especially a wedding.

Why not come and have a listen and a chat about the music for your wedding day, it would be good to see you.

Please pass this post on to as many potential brides and grooms so that they can come and see what the Best Western Stage and others can offer them to make their day special

I received a phone call from Debenhams store in Leicester regarding playing at a wedding fair they were holding at their huge store in the Highcross shopping centre.

This was a brilliant opportunity to get myself out there and promote my services to the wider public.

It was a long day with six hours of playing, but as I was opposite the cafe, refreshments were readily available.  Some of the shoppers took advantage of the cafe seating to take a well earned break from shopping and enjoy the music.  One lady even asked if I had a hat so she could put some money in.

I gave out about a dozen business cards, so hopefully some gigs may be forthcoming from the day, but if not I met and chatted to some really nice people and enjoyed the experience.

Many thanks Debenhams
