The weekend starts with the Mellow D’s playing at the Samaritan Beer Festival tonight.  We kick off the live music at 8pm.

Not only live music, but loads of different beers to try, along with ciders, wines and pims.  Lovely local food too, sounds like a good night out, and in aid of a very worthwhile charity too.  Come and join us.

Saturday I am heading off to the Grosvenor House Hotel in London for a solo gig, providing the background music for a drinks reception.

After that I will be heading straight to sunny Kent to spend the rest of the weekend with my 2 daughters.  Really looking forward to that.

Hope you have a great weekend too.

Dave

This was my first wedding on the Isle of Wight and also the first wedding at this venue since its new owners took over. What a lovely place to have your wedding celebrations at. The attention to detail is spot on with some great ideas including garden games to keep the children, both large and small entertained. Watching games of giant Jenga and connect four being played during the drinks reception was quite entertaining.

I played for both the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast including special requests for ‘Chunky’ by Bruno Mars requested by the bride and groom and the classic ‘ Careless Whisper’ from a guest.

The weather behaved itself, allowing everyone to enjoy their beautiful surroundings, and having watched the photographs being taken, I would think there where some great memories made yesterday.

The barn looked an excellent place for the evening party, and the band sounded great. So I imagine a good night was had by all.

Thank you Robin and Caroline for asking me to be part of your big day, and may I wish you all the happiness for your future together.

Now to start preparing for my next Island wedding in 2 weeks time.

Dave.
