Wethele Manor is a beautiful place to hold a wedding reception, even better when the weather stays nice.  Richard and Julie had both on the 5th October this year.

The clouds cleared just before the event and stayed off for the rest of the day.  Guests congregated in the courtyard for drinks and to welcome the bride and groom.  This gave me a good warm up for the main event, the reception which was held in  a permanent marquee attached to one of the old out buildings.

everything was well organised and the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the evening went like clockwork

Afterwards I must have given at least 6 business cards out to interested parties, so thats always a psitive sign

I would like to say thanks to Richard and Julie for asking me to play at their wedding and wish them all the best for the future

The view from the Balcony at Jeremy and Julies Wedding.

The view from the Balcony at Jeremy and Julies Wedding.

I was invited to play at Jeremy and Julies wedding reception after they heard me busk in Market Harborough during the summer.

The weather held off for them in the afternoon at the Congregational Church Hall  in Market Harborough and I played whilst the guests had a drink and the bride and groom had their pictures taken.

They asked me to play in the gallery overlooking the hall and they had provided a small stage so that I could be seen over the top of the gallery front.

It was a lovely relaxed event with a Hog Roast and buffet for sustenance and this was the start of my second session.

The Bride looked lovely and the Groom and their two sons looked very smart in full wedding suits.

I would like to say thank you to Jeremy and Julie for asking me and also to everyone for the lovely comments after.  I Hope that you enjoy your short break away and look forward to an Happy and Peaceful Christmas

regards

Dave

Saturday was a busy day with 2 weddings, with only an hour to drive 22 miles between them.  The afternoon started at the Shearsby Bath hotel at Shearsby.  This is lovely venue for a wedding.  I played whilst  Samantha and Jason and the guests arrived from the church, and had champagne before the wedding reception. Just as the Bride and Groom went in to the reception I started to play ‘La Bamba’ at which Samantha turned and said that they were heading to Mexico for their honeymoon! Spooky.

Wedding number 2 was at the Kettering Park hotel just off the A14 at Kettering.  This is another excellent venue for the happy day.  I played in between the Wedding Breakfast and evening reception.  I had a prime spot on the upper floor next to the chocolate fountain!

Both events had a selection of tunes from Michael Buble to Queen, from Andy Williams to George Gershwin and back again.

I would like to say thanks to both families for making me welcome and asking me to be part of their very special day.
