During February and March I will be playing at 3 wedding fayres at East Midlands Airport hotel (28th Feb), the Link Hotel in Loughborough (13th March), and Nottingham Race Course (20the March)
So if anyone would like to pop along for a chat about their wedding music, or any other event, please feel free.

Hi Folks

I just wanted to wish every one a happy and healthy new year for 2016.

2015 was a good year for me, with a record number of gigs played over the last 12 months.  This included joining up with the guys from Folk Foundasian ( Folk Foundasian sax trio  ) which has been a really good experience and a great learning curve for me.

I have played at some lovely venues this year including Langar Hall in Nottingham, Curradine Barns in Shrawley, a 50th wedding anniversary party in Portsmouth and Hinckley Classis car show to name but a few.

The new year starts with more confirmed gigs in the diary than ever before, and lots of projects in the pipeline, including starting work on recording a cd.

If you would like to chat about any events that you have coming up, then please drop me a line and I will come back to you as soon as possible.

Best wishes

Dave

Even though this is  the first week of the school holidays, things have been pretty busy here in sunny Leicester.

Thursday saw me playing at the Salvation Army Home League (which is a senior citizens club) in New Parks.  As I was brought up in the Salvation Army, I knew a few of the members from my childhood.  I took my Dad with me as he knew some other of the members too.

We had a great time, with a few tunes and a sing along session, then they finished the afternoon by singing happy birthday to me.  I had tried to keep it a secret, but it was all good fun.

Today I was playing at Sibbertoft Manor Nursing home for my normal monthly visit.  Yet again another anniversary as I have been playing there now for 2 years.

Tomorrow, I am playing at a garden party which is part of a wedding celebration week here in Wigston, and in the evening I will be playing for an Engagement party at San Carlos restaurant in Leicester.

Quite a busy week, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I hope yours is eventful too.

Last weekend I happened to be busking in Oadby and Wigston and this weekend in Market Harborough.  The sign of a successful busking in session is not necessarily the amount of donations in the hat, though, that of course helps, but by how many business cards and leaflets have been taken.

Oadby was very windy last week and early on my leaflet board was blown across the street. However two very kind young ladies brought them back for me whilst I was still playing (the show must go on!).  I am so glad that they did as most of them were picked up during the morning by passers by. One lady is the mother of a bride to be who has wrang and booked me to play at here wedding in August at Keythorpe Manor in Leicestershire, a very nice place to get married in deed.

Quite a few leaflets where also taken in Market Harborough yesterday. Today, I received another call from a gentleman who has booked me as a surprise for his Bride at their wedding in June, I wont say where the venue is, just in case she finds out accidentally.

If you are looking for background music to entertain your guests at your wedding or party, then please get in contact

Best wishes

Dave

to see if I can help.

This weekend I am playing at the Quorn Grange hotel for a wedding reception on Saturday evening. I have been asked to play Baker Street as a special request by the brides mum, this is the first time I have played it.  Even though it is a saxophone classic, it’s just a tune that I have never played before.

Sunday, has me joining the guys from Folk Foundasian playing at our first wedding fair.  We are at ‘The Spinney’ wedding venue in Leicester.  There is a fashion show and about 100 hundred other wedding related stalls at this event. (11am to 6pm) Why not pop down and see us?

I am really looking forward to getting kick started after the Christmas and New Year break.

Have a look at Folk Foundasian Sax Trio on youtube to see what we do.

Have a great week

The view from the Balcony at Jeremy and Julies Wedding.

The view from the Balcony at Jeremy and Julies Wedding.

I was invited to play at Jeremy and Julies wedding reception after they heard me busk in Market Harborough during the summer.

The weather held off for them in the afternoon at the Congregational Church Hall  in Market Harborough and I played whilst the guests had a drink and the bride and groom had their pictures taken.

They asked me to play in the gallery overlooking the hall and they had provided a small stage so that I could be seen over the top of the gallery front.

It was a lovely relaxed event with a Hog Roast and buffet for sustenance and this was the start of my second session.

The Bride looked lovely and the Groom and their two sons looked very smart in full wedding suits.

I would like to say thank you to Jeremy and Julie for asking me and also to everyone for the lovely comments after.  I Hope that you enjoy your short break away and look forward to an Happy and Peaceful Christmas

regards

Dave
