Richard asked me to play at his wedding to Trisha, but kept it a surprise from her. Even at the rehearsal she thought that I was just pressing the buttons on the p.a. system to play the music for the hymns and the ceremony.
They chose a lovely church called Wistow Church. The church is nearly a 1000 years old and sits in a lovely rural part of Leicestershire.
When Trisha arrived at the church the car pulled up to the front door and she saw me there with a saxophone in my hand, she had a good laugh.
Trisha went down the aisle to a lovely tune, a theme from a summers place. This was a new tune for me, but one I will definitely use again. Richard chose the outward tune, Can’t smile without you by Barry Manilow, another new one that will be used again.
The reception was held at the Conservative club in Wigston, and they put on a great event for the happy couple. The room was lovely, the food was really good and theres is plenty of parking, what else could you want for your special day. Well worth considering if you are looking for a local venue.
