Matt and Erica got married on Easter Sunday at a lovely venue near Castle Donnington airport, called the Priest House Hotel.
This is a lovely venue for a wedding, standing right next to a river and open countryside and not disturbed by noise from the airport.
They had seen me busking during last summer and asked me to play for them on their big day. The weather was fresh but nice and bright, allowing the guests to mingle outside for the photo’s.
The ceremony was great and the bride looked lovely. She kept the groom on tenterhooks by making him wait a little, but he managed to play it cool and did not get flustered at all.
I played whilst the guests arrived, during the signing of the register and during the photos and wedding breakfast. Everyone seemed to have a good time and the best man was under orders not to make his speech too long, which he did (keep it short). Whoever had decorated the tables had gone to a lot of trouble and everyone enjoyed the Easter eggs inside the antique bird cages on each table.
The new P.A system was on its first outing and worked well (shame I left my microphone at the hotel and had to go back during the week to get it!)
I would like to thank Erica and Matt for asking me to play and may I wish them all the best for the future together.
Dave
