I have been busking a few more times now and I still enjoy it. Its very interesting meeting loads of different people from all backgrounds who stop and chat.
The last time I went I was coming to the end of a tune, when some yob decided it would be funny to come and put his drink carton in the bell of my sax. When I asked him why, he replied with one word ‘Bighead’. So I took the carton out and got on with playing. Well one of the bystanders came and picked the carton up and went after the lad. So they ended up having a face to face argument in the high street. Luckily things calmed down and everyone went their own way, the last thing I wanted was to be in the middle of a fight.
The same day, a very nice lady came up and asked me if I would play at her husbands birthday party in October (for a fee) So I have got a gig booked and plenty of practice to get on with.
I am not making loads of money, but whatever I do make is being saved to pay for my instruments to be serviced.
I will be going back next week for another couple of sessions and may well try some different pitches. I will let you know how I get on
