There have been some changes since the start of the year. Neville, the founder of the band has stood down after 5 years of running the whole show. That’s a lot of organising and administration as well as hard work setting up at every gig and taking the kit home again. I think he deserves a well earned rest and having the time to be the bands bari sax player.
We have formed a small committee to keep the band running and for my sins I am secretary and it certainly shows you what is involved in running a band.
We have our first gig of the year this weekend at the Congregational church hall in Market Harborough. The programme is a real mixture of 40’s 50’s 60’s up to the 00’s. The doors open at 7.30 and there is a raffle with some excellent prizes. I am leaving the best till last, included in the price of your ticket is a fish and chip supper. So good music, good food and a good time, what else could you want on a Saturday night!
gig report to follow.
