Hi, my name is Dave Plummer and I work as a Woodwind Teacher, primarily Saxophone and Clarinet. I teach in a number of schools in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire Lincolnshire and Rutland and at home.
I am a member of a band, Brass, Wind and Fire which is a big band based at Kibworth and I play lead Alto and soprano Saxophone. We have played all over Leicestershire and district at 40′s night, birthday parties, fund raisers and carnivals and fetes. I also love playing in saxophone ensembles either in school or with friends.
My music interests are very wide from Gregorian chants (really relaxing to listen too) through to the Baseballs and most things in between.
I am married to Carole who supports me and my music all the way, for which I am very grateful.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the lesson today – you answered so many queries and left me with plenty to go away and work on. Many thanks.
Only problem is, as you know I went straight on to the dentist who gave me a local jab – so now have to wait a few hours for that to die off so I don’t slober down the mouthpiece!
Thanks also for the web tips.
See you soon
Dave
No problem Dave, hope the gig goes well and you stop dribbling soon!!!
Hello Dave,
This all looks very interesting. I wondered if you’d be interested in our new website, featuring music by myself, Karen Street and Gilad Atzmon. Solo and ensemble sax/clari music. 10% discount for all teachers. It’s http://www.gumblespublications.co.uk Best Wishes, Chris Gumbley
Hi Chris
Thanks for the contact, I know yours and Karen’s work and use a lot of it for myself and with students. I recently bought Karens book Streetworks from your stand at the national saxophone congress and use it all the time.
I have a copy of Karen’s Dizzy duets and wondered if you had any plans to republish it as I have never seen it in the shops. Gilad is a supeb player, I saw him at the Y theatre in Leicester a couple of years ago on his ‘With Strings’ tour, really enjoyed it.
I would recommend Chris’s site to anyone looking for some great music to play, whatever standard you are.
Keep up the good work Gumbles
Saw Dizzy Duets at Chappells only last week! Best Wishes, Chris
Hallo Dave, I have read this from you on cafesaxophone:
Hi Folks, I use wikifonia.org a lot for sheet music, but at the moment I am having real problems getting on to this site. I would be grateful if someone could check and let me know if it is a site problem or something wrong my end. All other sites are fine here. Thanks Dave
*************
You are not the only desperate one over what happened with wikifonia.
I write from Norway, and even here it looks the same – I cannot open their sites at all already for a couple of days. I wrote them on info@wikifonia.org, several times, without geting any reply from them. Someone reccomends contacting Yamaha or so, I don’t really know. But we should definitely do something.. You are welcome to send me a mail
Regards
Vit
Hi Vit
Thanks for your message, I have just checked again and its still down. I hope that we have not lost them for good as I use them for my busking tunes. Do you know of any similar sites that provide the dots? What do you use them for?
What have Yamaha got to do with Wikifonia?
regards
Dave
Dave I have been listening to Matthew Stone on you tube re Autumn Leaves and he mentions that found the backing track for him in D minor I just wondered if you can tell me were to find it please
Hi Kevin
Thanks for the contact. The track is available on spotify and itunes. If you go on to Spotify and look under Autumn leaves karaoke. The 3rd one down is by prosound karoake band and you can by it from there. There are over 100,000 karaoke tracks for you to use. I hope that helps
